If you have one of our infamous Floyd’s Motel shirts, you’ve probably noticed the saying:
“In Cancun there is NO Floyd’s.”
People ask us about it all the time!
The story goes back many years. Two separate groups happened to be staying at Floyd’s at the same time. A guy from one group met a girl from the other, they fell in love, got married, and chose Cancun for their honeymoon.
While they were there, they called Mom and Dad and jokingly said, “In Cancun there is no Floyd’s!”
From that day on, the phrase became part of Floyd’s history—and eventually found its way onto our shirts.
Fast forward to today… one of our longtime guests, David, recently traveled to Ireland and sent us this photo.
We hate to break it to everyone, but after an extensive search, we can officially confirm…
In Ireland, there is NO Floyd’s either! 😂☘️🌎
