A couple of years ago my siblings and I talked about doing a Welcome Basket for our guest. In South Carolina there’s a word used for a small gift: Sercy! This is our sercy to the wonderful folks who we share Nancy’s condo. Contents include a wet bag, Turkish towel, beach towel clip, a bottle of Duplin Winery sangria, A-JAX Golf Cart Rentals information and more!

Reading on vacation is one of life’s greatest pleasures!
We’ve edited our library a bit and want to share a few of our favorites!
These first two are by one of my favorite authors. I love the story of Ellen Foster; heartbreakingly sad, innocent and full of hope.

Beach Music by South Carolina’s favorite son; Pat Conroy. The words are lyrical!

Issac’s Storm is about the hurricane of 1900 in Galveston Texas in the days before meteorological experts of today.
Bill Bryson is a national treasure and in this case writing about Australia! If you haven’t read a Walk in the Woods run to your nearest library and check out a copy! You will laugh out loud.

We’ve got a few books on South Carolina; hidden gems, walks and nature and 2 books from South Carolinas who lived in the low country and honored us all by telling their very different stories. Greek Boy is written by my former boss and former owner of Cagney’s and Flamingo Grill.

The last two are pure indulgent just as a beach read should be! A story of friends spending time in Coastal Low Country and Embarrassment of Mangos is the story of a couple and their dreams of living on a boat in the Caribbean.
