The Charlotte County Utilities Department has declared a precautionary boil water notice for some customers in part of Northwest County due to a temporary loss of pressure. The affected customers will remain under a precautionary boil water notice until further notice.

Affected area:

Between El Jobean Road, north to Hillsborough and Flamingo Boulevards, west to the Myakka River.

All customers in the affected area should boil water intended for drinking or cooking until further notice. The Utilities Department will notify the affected customers with a rescission notice as soon as the water quality is confirmed to be at safe consumption levels. As an alternative, bottled water could be used. We apologize for the inconvenience.

FLORIDA SOAKER! ☔ Unsettled weather pattern for the final days of May and heading into June with a lot of tropical moisture moving in. That means rain! Here's a first look at potential rainfall totals between 2-5" across Florida over the next 10 days, isolated spots 6"+. That would certainly bring some nice drought relief to the state, we need it!

People visiting Florida think the dangerous part is the wildlife hiding deep in the Everglades… giant alligators floating through black water or massive pythons slithering through the swamp. 🐊🌴💀
And honestly? Yeah… Florida absolutely has gators and invasive snakes.
But locals know the REAL creatures running the state are the sandhill cranes. 😭🦤
Florida sandhill cranes are not normal birds.
They are: • neighborhood patrol officers
• golf course dictators
• and prehistoric sidewalk enforcers with zero fear of humanity 💀
Tourists fear: • alligators
• sharks
• hurricanes
• swamp creatures
Meanwhile Floridians are out here whispering: “Bro… don’t honk at the crane.” 😭
You’ll be peacefully driving through a neighborhood, Publix parking lot, or random suburban road…
then suddenly: the crane appears. 🦤
Standing directly in the middle of traffic like it personally owns the county.
Cars stopped. Hazards on. Twenty people late for work.
And the crane? Just staring at everybody like: “You’ll move when I’m finished.” 💀
The gators usually slide away into the water.
The pythons avoid people.
Florida cranes? They walk toward you like unpaid HOA enforcement.
And every Floridian already knows the survival rules: • never get too close to crane babies
• never interrupt crane crossing speed
• and NEVER challenge one near a pond 😭
Because once they puff up and spread those wings… it instantly becomes Jurassic Park: Retirement Community Edition. 🦤🌴💀
Only in Florida can: • alligators seem reasonable
• hurricanes feel seasonal
• and the animal truly controlling traffic is a giant angry bird that sounds like a dinosaur trumpet. 😭
