Children currently receiving services from Westchester County’s Department of Social Services are eligible for Camp Morty. Campers and staff sleep in Yurts.

The program is administered by the Westchester Parks Foundation with the support Of Westchester Department of Social Services and Westchester PRC. Our campers are registered via The Westchester Parks Foundation, which targets foster, group home, and homeless shelter children ages

8-15. Camp Morty's mission is to provide a quality outdoor camp experience for Westchester youth who, by the nature of their living situation, would not normally have such an opportunity. Daily activities include: Outdoor Adventure, Aquatics (swimming and boating), Sports, Hiking, Ropes Course, Music, Drama, Dance, Martial Arts, Crafts and much more! Meals are prepared on site and served in the newly renovated dining hall. Staff sleep in yurts with campers. The program is divided into one week sessions.

Today we honor Freedom Day and the resilience, strength, and joy it represents. At Camp Morty, that same spirit lives on every summer when a child from an underserved community gets to run free, laugh loud, and simply be a kid with no barriers holding them back.

Freedom looks different for every generation. For our campers, it looks like open fields, campfires, friendships, and a summer that belongs entirely to them.

Merriwood 2026 — Camp Morty's Free Two-Week Teen Program Just Got Bigger🥹🥹

This summer Camp Morty expanded Merriwood to 60 spots per session because Westchester County teens ages 13 to 15 deserve more. More space, brand new cabins, and two weeks completely free for families connected to DSS. Leadership, growth, friendship, and real experiences designed specifically for the teenage journey. Camp Morty 2026 Applications Now Open | Free Summer Camp in Westchester County

Looking for a free overnight summer camp in Westchester County? Camp Morty is 100 percent free for eligible families and open to children ages 8 to 17. Located at Sal J. Prezioso Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem, Camp Morty offers swimming, STEM and robotics, nature hikes, arts and crafts, campfires, field trips, and unforgettable memories.

Camp Morty Celebrates Black History Month⏬️

This Black History Month, Camp Morty celebrates the message of Rev. Jesse Jackson and the belief that every child matters and every voice has value. For 20 years, our camp has provided access, opportunity, and a place to belong for children across Westchester County. Every camper leaves knowing they are somebody.

Camp Morty is a free overnight summer camp serving children and families in Westchester County. Established in 2006, the program provides a safe and supportive environment where campers build confidence, develop friendships, and explore new experiences through outdoor adventure, arts, STEM, and team activities. In partnership with local agencies and community organizations, Camp Morty works to remove barriers to access so every child can participate regardless of financial circumstances.

Camp Morty is a completely free sleepaway summer camp for eligible Westchester County families that recieve services from Department of Social Services.
