Second upgrade we put in this weekend! Converted the garage into a game room. A great place for the whole family to hang out, or a great place for the kids to get out some energy on a rainy day.

Spending time in Charleston for our anniversary trip. After 5 years of visits, The Ordinary is our top vote for oysters in in the city. Last night one of their featured oysters were from ‘Topsail Jewels’. Our little island can contribute to the big leagues of fine seafood dining across the country.

Last day of summer season at . We have learned so much and have been overjoyed by all the great feedback we’ve received so far. The work we put in is creating vacation memories for our guests. While the future is uncertain and we still live month to month we are excited about what comes next. Thank you all who have stayed with us so far.

The most recent storm washed out a significant portion of our dune. Big step the the beach now but still manageable. Everyone be careful walking out there as the storm also washed a lot of debris onto shore. Mother Nature is our master.

What a gem in the Topsoil area. It is worth it to book a tour with the Ghost Fleet Oyster Company. A beautiful ride to their Oyster farm and ALL THE OYSTERS YOU CAN EAT.

Trying to get back in the rhythm of posting again. We got to tour the Karen Beasley turtle sanctuary this weekend. This organization and their volunteers take in turtles that need rescue from as far away as New Jersey. Once they are rehabilitated they release them back into the sea. Their largest turtle is over 200 pounds! They also mark and protect over 100 turtle nests on the island each year. One was found in front of Take their tour when you are in town to support their efforts. #

Did someone say Oyster Day! Shuckin’ Shack and Ghost Fleet Oyster are both in our guidebook and are highly recommended.

Today is ! Did you know that Businesses like N. Sea Oyster Co, Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar, Cape Fear Oyster Company, Ghost Fleet Oyster Company and Soundside Oyster Company are all on the North Carolina Oyster Trail? Not only are they great for our waterways but they can be mighty tasty too. Try them baked, roasted, broiled, raw or fried!
