Starting May 3 in Lincoln, one of the most unusual new outdoor adventures in the White Mountains will let you ride rail bikes on a historic railroad line. Granite State Railway is bringing Lincoln Rail Bikes to the heart of the White Mountains, where you pedal custom-built, motor-assisted bikes along a scenic stretch of historic track through the forest. The electric assist makes it easy enough for families, couples, and mixed-age groups — but still active enough to feel like an adventure, not just a passive ride. Rides last about 90 minutes, with a midway stop that lets you step off, breathe in the mountain air, and take in the setting before heading back to the station.
