Hi all! Now that we’ve been able to come up for air a bit, we’re excited to introduce ourselves as the new owners of Norwood Campground and share a little about who we are and what we envision for the future of the campground.
I’m Steven, a native Atlantan, and Barak is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. We currently own and operate Smith Mountain Campground in Virginia, and together we bring years of experience in land development, property improvement, and campground operations.
Outside of work, family and the outdoors keep us plenty busy. I have three teenage daughters who keep me active and on the go—and I consider my graying hair a badge of honor! I enjoy coaching, backpacking, spending time with my dog, Jimmy, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs.
Barak and his wife, Hollie, have two teenagers and are preparing to become empty nesters in just a couple of years. As a Past Commander of the Atlanta Power Squadron, he has a longtime love of boating and is especially looking forward to spending time out on Lake Tillery.
As we begin this next chapter, we look forward to making many improvements to the campground while preserving the things that have made it special for so many years. Most importantly, we want our guests to continue enjoying the same great service, welcoming atmosphere, and personal touch they’ve come to know and appreciate.
Our goal is to build on what’s already here—investing in the property, enhancing the guest experience, and creating even more opportunities for families and friends to enjoy the campground and beautiful Lake Tillery.
We’re grateful to be part of this community, and we look forward to meeting each of you. We’re excited about what’s ahead and can’t wait to share it with you!
