I just wanted to send a shout out to the Sierra Grande Baseball team and their coaches. They traveled all the way from Southeast Colorado in the San Luis Valley to play baseball here today. The Vestal House was lucky enough to host them overnight. The kids were amazing and polite. I recognized many of them from the state basketball playoffs.
Honestly, after meeting them for the short time, I was ready to adopt all of them. So cute and so innocent, they were respectful and they thought their coach walked on water. What a wonderful guy Coach Joos is.
Relieved and excited to be in our town was interrupted at 2am with a prankster knocking on Amy's Place window and interrupting the peaceful harmony. Luckily for the perp my camera in the front wasn't working but I do have a very good shoe print. And I will be inspecting shoes everywhere I go to see if I can match them! As this occurred at 2am I am confident to say this probably wasn't a kid (cause kids are less brave than I was at that age) but an adult acting like an idiot. I do have my suspicions!
No harm incurred but a restful sleep for the team and their coaches was thrown out the window. They left town this afternoon exhausted with a long drive ahead of them.
They left an impression on me and Ellexis. Sweet kids and awesome coaches. The Sierra Grande School district should be proud, and we appreciate them traveling all this way!

As we dive into the Merc and Creamery buildings and start talking roofs lines, floor plans and facade it brings back those renovation memories of the Vestal House.
My husband and his crews don't half-ass anything and I am super excited to see what they come up with! Exciting year up ahead!

Our favorite time of the year! Our hunters bring us potatoes, squash, cabbage, salsa, jellys, onions, Whitetail deer hamburger and pecans! Spoiled!

It was a beautiful lunch! Great food and great conversations! Thank you Nucla-Naturita Chamber of Commerce for organizing the event. Troy is a wealth of knowledge and yes he needs to do some classes and perhaps create a tech dictionary for those of us that remember when the internet wasn't a thing!

I want to thank everyone again for attending the 2nd Annual Uranium Fly In "The Colony at Pinon". The weather and food were spectacular thanks to Wild Gals Market!
Although we had to dine inside that evening rather than the patio, the ambiance of Amy's Place was a great place to watch the much-welcomed rain roll in.

I did have some technical malfunction with the audio, which was disappointing to say the least because that was going to be fun to edit, but I managed to salvage it into a pretty sweet slideshow.
Ray Davis let me sleep in on Sunday and he made sure the pilots made it back to the airport, so he was able to grab some great audio with the airplanes.
