The last five years has been a wild ride. 7 years to a masters degree, 9+ years honing skills in the neuro OR, and within just a few seconds of setting foot on this property the doors opened to an entirely different life.

I’m not going to lie, I cried big fat ugly tears as I packed up my office and left the hospital and operating room for the last time. I was fearful I would regret leaving my career, the community that I grew up in and uprooting the kids, unsure of what it would take to start fresh in a new place. But I’m here to tell you now it is worth pursuing your dreams.

Don’t get caught in the trap of thinking that chasing your dreams means all your past efforts have been wasted. It’s all part of the journey and framework that got you to where you are now; every milestone, misstep, hurdle, and celebration sets you forth another step ahead.

Don’t let others tell you your hopes and aspirations are foolish. Yes, you may crash and burn- but what if it is also the single most important turning point of your life? What will you regret more? Trying now- or looking back on this moment in five years and still be sitting in the same spot?

So listen to your heart: buy the farm, milk the cow, plant the orchard, open up a farm store, add in a couple buffalo, no regrets…

Wow!! We are blown away by the level of support from our community for our little farm store! ❤️ For those asking- we do still have some whole chickens left. If you miss out on this batch we will be processing chickens again in July. We have hogs going to the butcher June 17th for USDA butchering and currently our supply of pork is home butchered and offered through our PMA (feel free to DM me if you’d like more info on PMA’s). Our farm store is located on site at the ranch, 1880 Owyhee Lake Rd in Nyssa. We are open Thursday thru Saturday 10-2 and by appointment. For more info on the B&B feel free to message me or visit our website owyheeriverranch.com. With the tremendous response we have received we are working on setting up an online store for easier checkout through our website. For now please DM or email if you would like food reserved for you.

Who wants chicken?? Our first batch of chickens for the season are now available for your table. We raise our chickens here at Owyhee River Ranch on pasture in chicken tractors that are moved twice daily so they get plentiful greens along with their non-GMO grain. Whole chickens range 5 to 7+ pounds. We also have our various pork cuts, eggs, and raw dairy products. Send us a DM if you are interested!

Fire season is already here in the Owyhees. Friendly nudge from a volunteer on the EMS crew, please burn responsibly. It’s already so dry out and it doesn’t take much to go from a spark to 255 acres like this one.
