I am not a scientist but I have a hunch that science would bear me out and conclude that my estimate now of 1 million pounds of Co2 from Vineyard Tourism is about right.

The reason I believe that is that 6 years ago it was estimated to be it was calculated at 606 million pounds but tourism has increased dramatically. It was based primarily on automobile traffic and if we add air travel, Steamship Authority, power boats and yachts I would bet we arrive at a million pounds of Co2 or close to it.

Whatever the actual number turns out to be, it is shocking to consider it is even possible.

Now we have Vineyard Wind adding to it and messing up our island and our ocean. What are they thinking?

In a baseline year of 2018, the Martha's Vineyard Island emitted approximately 270,000 metric tons (606 million pounds) of carbon dioxide, equivalent to the emissions of approximately 60,000 cars in one year. This data shows us our biggest opportunities to reduce emissions that we produce.
Temperatures in the ocean in Miami are currently at 92 degrees F. The Highest ever.

There is a completely absurd plan to reduce all Co2 by 50% by 2030 and by 100% by 2050. Absurd since it never will happen. We will just keep producing more Co2. There is no way out of it.

"In April 2024, Simon Stiell, the United Nations executive climate secretary, said that humanity has two years to save the world from irreversible damage due to climate change. Stiell warned that current commitments to fight climate change are unlikely to significantly reduce global emissions by 2030. He also said that dramatic changes to how humans produce heat-trapping emissions are necessary, and that there is even less time to secure the financing for such a shift."

How could Simon Stiell make so stupid a statement? This absoloutely guarantees extinction. It is not the solution to shift energy to renewabeles. The solution is to reduce emissions by populatipon, by habits, by a complete recognitino that tourism is a climate killer, that Industryis a cliimate killer, that not even one scientist or intellectual even dares to propose what is actually needed.
