🛟 Public Service Message 🛟

The emergency services of Oak Island are requesting the public to kindly avoid positioning your beach setups in the emergency access locations throughout the Island.

Pictured here is 49th street access, the primary access for emergency Ocean Rescue jet ski and Water Rescue boat launches.

Blocking this causes extensive delay in moving your camp when minutes matter in a successful rescue.

Please keep these accesses open throughout the island. They are all conspicuously marked with signage.

The National Aquarium in Baltimore collaborated with our amazing volunteers at Oak Island Sea Turtle Protection Program to give 29 rehabilitated turtles a second chance at life. It was such a heartwarming experience to be a part of along with all the people in our community that came out to offer support as well. Just another reason we love Oak Island so much.
