Dear Valued Guests
Last fall I announced that I would be putting Serendipity up for sale. After putting it on the market, then taking it off and putting it on again, Serendipity has been sold. While I am happy for the sale, I am sad that Serendipity will be closing. The new owner will not be operating it as a bed and breakfast.
At this time of thanksgiving I would like to give a very heartfelt thank you to all of my valued guests. During my twelve years as an innkeeper I have had the amazing experience of meeting such a wonderful group of people. In all of my years I cannot even count five people whom I would not want to return as guests. In speaking with other innkeepers, I am aware that I am lucky. Thank you for making this career change such a rewarding one. Over the years many of you have become friends and many, many more acquaintances. I have had the opportunity to be part of engagements, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and these same guests who became engaged and married, having babies. I cannot imagine a career which gives such delight. Unfortunately I have also been told of people passing, some were my guests and some were close family members of my guests. Thank you for letting Serendipity be a place where you could come to grieve and more importantly share wonderful memories. I will miss all of you.
Ocean City is a wonderful place to visit and I know that you will be returning. To see other properties, you can go to http://www.ocnjrooms.com This is a listing of over 30 properties in Ocean City – hotels, motels, B&Bs, and guesthouses. While I would recommend any of these places, my top 4 B&Bs – in alphabetical order – are
Bayberry Inn, 811 Wesley Avenue, 609-391-1183 (open seasonally)
Inn the Gardens, 48 Wesley Road, 609-399-0800 (open year round)
Northwood Inn, 401 Wesley Avenue, 609-399-6071 (open year round)
Ocean City Mansion, 416 Central Avenue, 609-399-8383 (open year round) Mention Serendipity when booking at this property and get a special offer on your first reservation.
I hope to see you on the boardwalk next year!
Gratefully,
Karen
