People assume Ocean City shuts down after Labor Day and it's honestly kind of funny to us, because this is what mid-October looks like. Still walkable beaches, still open restaurants, still worth the drive. The secret's just that fewer people know about it.

Mid-October Assateague is a different place than August Assateague...cooler air, way fewer people, and the ponies aren't competing with a crowd for your attention. If you've been putting off the trip, this is the window. Beach Bum West-O keeps you close enough to make it a half-day, not a whole ordeal.

Live music from The Lost Lederhosen Band & The Dunehounds, local breweries, bratwurst, pretzels, street corn, a stein-holding contest, costume contests for kids & adults, glass blowing, award-winning pumpkin carving, and a petting farm for the little ones. Free trolley running 10:30–4:30 so you don't have to worry about parking.

Pro tip: grab your stein + drink tickets tomorrow (Friday) 4–7pm at Rowan Kitchens and skip the lines Saturday!
