In my late twenties, I knew it was time to do something different. As visitation to our national parks continued to grow—and the Florida landscape continued to change—it became clear that eco-tourism wasn’t just an opportunity, it was a responsibility.
Our family legacy in the Everglades spans more than 100 years. For generations, we have worked to preserve our heritage, our culture, and our connection to this land—and we continue that work today by sharing it with visitors from around the world. The goal was never to follow trends, but to offer people a way to experience this place as traditionally and authentically as possible.
Through a long-standing and respectful relationship with local Indigenous communities, and with their guidance and wisdom at the helm, we were able to create traditional ecological experiences rooted in history, culture, and respect for the land.
The elders told us this was how our family would remain connected to this place for generations to come. Sharing that knowledge and way of life with others is something we are deeply grateful for.
