OUTDOOR REPORT
(thanks to Patrick Schnell of NE Game and Parks)
π£ The Walleye Spawn is for the most part over and fishing is switching to post spawn bite on the points to the west of the dam near Little Thunder campground on the north side and Ogallala Beach on the south side.
π There is also a good bite on the west end of the lake for catfish, and many anglers are catching nice white bass around the same areas as the walleye.
πMany different lures are being used to catch fish so it's best to check out local vendors and concessions around Lake McConaughy and Ogallala, including: JC Cedarview, Stetsons Corner Store, Kingsleydamresort and Lured In Ogallala. Van's Lakeview Fishing Camp, Inc. opens May 18 and Vogl's Lodge & Lure - Lake McConaughy opens the first full week of May.
