RING A BELL FOR LIBERTY - On July 4th, our nation celebrates its 250th birthday. You and your family can join in making this day a memorable event by ringing a bell for liberty at 10 a.m. for two and a half minutes. As the chair of the St. Lawrence County Legislature's 250th Anniversary Commission, we want you to participate in this important event and spread the word! You, your children, grandchildren and friends can all participate in this important moment in our nation's history. You can go out in your yard, stand on your porch, or even open a window and ring a bell to proclaim this special moment when we can all remember what brings us together as Americans. Ask your church to ring its bell at 10 a.m. for two and a half minutes. St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce has bells for sale at their offices in Ogdensburg, Canton and Massena for just $5 each. Use your own or buy one for every member of the family. During this time when so many people want to drive us apart, let's show we remember what brings us together - our nation. (Please share!)

Congratulations to Billy and Maureen Hosmer for believing in Ogdensburg and investing in our community. They are saving a historic landmark and bringing back craft beer brewing to our city after an almost 100 year absence. Ogdensburg's historic Arnold Brewery was located just a couple of blocks from our new brewery pub

OGDENSBURG — The St. Lawrence Valley Horsemen's Association(SLVHA) will be holding its first Horse Show of the season on Sunday, May 31st at 10 a.m. at the Paradis Acres show grounds on Linden Road. Proof of current rabies(with in 1 year) and Negative Coggins(with in 2 years) is required and membership in the SLVHA(which can be purchased when you enter that day). Entry fee for the day will be $30 or $8 per class. Ribbons only. Class list is posted on the SLVHA face book page.

FIVE STAR REVIEW ON EXPEDIA!
People wonder why Ogdensburg's historic Sherman Inn has gained so much national exposure. It's because of our amazing guests who say such wonderful things about our Inn and our community after their visits. Here's a review we received over the weekend on Expedia, one of the nation's biggest travel engines:

Unique property and a comfortable stay. We enjoyed an optional history tour of this former school building before settling in to our huge room. The bedding was amazingly soft, as were the towels, with excellent housekeeping each day. Breakfast was customized for our needs and was wonderful, fresh and homemade. The communal kitchen was nice for making my french press coffee early in the morning. There is a library as well as a lot of reading material in the Theodore Roosevelt room we stayed in. The surrounding town is lovely. There is a nice park and playground by the St. Lawrence river where you can look over at Canada. We found places for dinner both nights. Everything is just a few blocks from the hotel and we felt totally safe there. We would definitely return if we come back to the area.

RUNNING FOR REELECTION - I want to thank everyone who encouraged me to seek reelection to the St. Lawrence County Legislature. I have worked hard to make a positive difference for Ogdensburg and St. Lawrence County. While I have no doubt not all my decisions pleased everyone, I hope people realize that I care a great deal for our community and this county. Over the next seven months, I hope to be able to earn your support. Representing Ogdensburg has been a great privilege and I thank the people of our community for their support. Be assured, I will always fight for our community.
