Origin at Rancho de San Juan

Just one year ago, I posted this picture and a post about new beginnings and my love for getting my hands in the garden and deep in the earth. I find it so appropriate that I can finally, now, let all our cherished guests, fans and supporters over the last 7 years, gain a glimpse into the cotyledon's emergence - the nascent growth of the next incarnation and evolution of Origin. As we retain and maintain our love and anchor at Rancho de San Juan in Ojo Caliente, and the sacred lands there which include our connection to and stewardship of the world famous Windows of the Earth cave sanctuary carved by Ra Paulette, we move our retreat center to Taos. At this new location we shall resume all and more of our offerings starting June 15th of this summer. We have refined our mission and offerings this last year in the still moments and re-envisioned to better serve you all and this globalized healing we all embark on. Having two locations will certainly round out our guests' experience and healing and take things to the next level!

Beginnings and endings prove paramount, and with this, we say thank you to the former retreat center and buildings for housing us and our vision and nourishing so many in a sacred manner. I personally say thank you to the same for serving as my home and my soul anchor these last 7 years. I delight in our commitment to keep giving back to 67 cherished acres of land there and look forward to rebuilding many magical platforms for hosting our guests again, soon. My father always told me to leave a place better than when you found it. So I did. I will share some before and after photos over the next month to honor all the love so many under the tutelage of Origin, have contributed to those lands and buildings and all the ways they thrived and blossomed under Origin's stewardarship. May they serve love, the highest good for all, and the new visitors under the new owner's guidance!

So this small door and chapter closes in the Origin timeline and we prepare the soil for all the new sprouts of something even more medicinal and light-filled to make its way through. Stay tuned for the many ways the new landing pad and sanctuary in Taos will serve as its own platform and for continued visits to Origin at Rancho de San Juan and the tours of the wilderness shrine by Ra Paulette on its lands!

Place of Refuge. This last 8 months or so, has certainly taught us what really matters in life - the things we value, the things we are willing to question, the things we will not negotiate and all we are ready to walk away from and bless. As Origin has funneled much energy and many resources into physical improvements and re-envisioning of our offerings and services, we are delighted to share that we are now, again, welcoming guests to this beautiful ranch, for the healing pilgrimages and half-day retreat experience (or tours as we call them) to a true place of refuge. May these 147 acres and this sacred Wilderness Shrine be a beacon and temple that proves an island in the onslaught of cultural, political and societal pressure. May Origin serve as a light, and welcome arms that remain committed to art, beauty, healing, culture and solace. May this contemplative and celebratory experience land in profound resonance, with each footstep on these holy grounds, in the camp of "we can and shall survive and thrive" in the face of great challenges. Cota. Revered by natives throughout the Southwest, including the Dine or Navajo as some know them, and the matrilineal and matrilocal Hopi of Arizona, this tea supports us in so many ways. It works wonders for all manner of stomach upset, is a kidney tonifier, and a powerful nervine. Look around and you can find this plant also known as greenthread growing and gracing us with her sweet little golden buds on long graceful necks of the stalks that seem to defy all that is possible as they hold up the flower heads. I brewed some tea just last night and enjoyed the surprisingly sweet and delightful tang.
