In 1929, Noah's Ark was one of Old Orchard Beach most popular attractions— Only six of these funhouses were ever built, and OOB's was the only one operating on the East Coast.

Stepping inside was an adventure. Visitors braved twisting dark passageways, bright flashes of light, blaring horns, and sudden puffs of compressed air— designed to keep you laughing and slightly off-balance. AND, the massive ark itself rocked back and forth under your feet, adding to the fun.

From the outside, Noah's Ark was just as spectacular. The ship’s curved hull with Noah's family and playful animals were all hand-carved from wood, making it a piece of craftsmanship as well as a funhouse.

For decades—until the 1969 fire) Noah’s Ark stood as a symbol of seaside excitement and summertime memories. Did you ever set foot on that swaying deck?
