Merry Christmas from Old Orchard Beach Campground

’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the sites,
The RVs were glowing with Christmas lights.
The leveling jacks were all lowered with care,
In hopes that Saint Nick soon would be there.

The campers were nestled in slide-outs so wide,
With warmth from the fireplace, all cozy inside.
And I in my hoodie, with the dog on my lap,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap.

From out near the firepit, there arose such a clatter,
I peered through the blinds to see what was the matter.
The moon shed a light on the pines and the wood,
Where the rest of the campers all peacefully stood.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a red toy hauler — and only six reindeer!
He looked like a nomad who’d seen every state,
I knew it was Santa — the master of freight.

He filled up his tanks with water for the road,
Then jumped in the camper with his holiday load.
He waved from the RV, his grin shining bright:
“Happy Camping to you all, and to all a good night!” 🎅🚐✨
