Everybody down there designs for the Bourbon Street bachelorette, so the whole market is beads, neon, and a purple accent wall. Meanwhile the guests with real money come for the architecture and the galleries, and almost nobody is designing for them.

Burgundy entry they photograph before their bags hit the floor. A living room that stops thumbs in a feed full of beige. And a bedroom mural that turns a $200 night into a $275 night, which at 70% occupancy is about $19K a year. From wallpaper.

Design isn't decoration. It's a revenue lever.
