We’re excited to celebrate Joe Mapes on his promotion to General Manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Omaha West! Joe has continued to grow his career within the hotel industry, moving from the front desk to operations, sales, and now General Manager.

Let’s Get to Know Joe:

🏨 Could you give a history on some of your hotel background?
I started off as a Front Desk Agent right before COVID in 2019, moved into the Front Office Manager position in 2020, and then moved into Sales in February 2025 before becoming General Manager.

📱 Favorite website or app?
Reddit is my go-to doomscrolling site.

🥾 Favorite vacation destination?
I enjoy hiking in the Rockies.

🏨 Favorite hotel?
I love the design of SpringHill Suites.

✈️ Dream vacation?
I would love to visit the White Cliffs of Dover or Bora Bora.

🎤 Favorite or most unique job?
I used to be a stagehand for the local union. I have worked on shows for Elton John, Taylor Swift, and WWE.

❤️ Favorite hotel experience as a guest?
My grandma likes to rent hotel rooms for everyone once a year. We just rent rooms at a hotel in town. It was something to look forward to every year.
