The peonies are showing off this year. 🌸

Every June they remind us why they’re one of our favorite flowers around the inn. The blooms are bigger, fuller, and more colorful than we’ve seen in a long time, and they’re putting on quite the welcome for our guests.

Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Their courage gave us the freedom to gather with family, enjoy quiet mornings on the porch, watch summer sunsets, and create memories in places we love.

From all of us at The Canfield House, we are deeply grateful to those who served and especially to those who never came home.

Happy Mother’s Day.

At The Canfield House, we get to watch families slow down together. Morning coffee on the porch. Barefoot walks to the lake. Sunset conversations that last a little longer than usual.

And behind so many of those moments is a mom who made them happen.

Today we’re especially thankful for the mothers, grandmothers, stepmoms, and mother figures who pour so much of themselves into the people they love.

Thank you for the comfort you create, the traditions you hold together, and the memories you make possible.
