🌅 There are sunrises… and then there are Porcupine Mountains sunrises.

Watching the first light of the day spill across Lake of the Clouds is one of those Upper Peninsula experiences that a photo can only begin to capture.

High above the lake, surrounded by miles of untouched wilderness, the Porcupine Mountains remind you just how wild and beautiful Michigan’s western U.P. really is. And with fall right around the corner, views like this are about to get even more spectacular. 🍂

If you’re visiting us, set the alarm early at least once. Grab a cup of coffee, make the drive into the Porkies, and watch the day begin from one of the most iconic overlooks in Michigan. It’s worth the early wake-up call.

When Lake Superior decides to feel like summer, you don’t waste the day indoors. ☀️🌊
With the current heat wave rolling through the U.P., our wide sandy beach has become the perfect place to cool off, build sandcastles, watch the kids play, and settle into a chair while the waves do the rest.

The sunsets have been putting on quite a show lately. 🌅

If next week’s forecast is as hot as they’re saying, there’s no better place to cool off than the crystal-clear waters of Lake Superior. While everyone else is searching for air conditioning, we’ll be enjoying fresh lake breezes, breathtaking sunsets, and evenings that are actually comfortable.
