Tropical Storm #1 update!
Tropical Storm Isaias Update No. 1 – 8:30 a.m. Oct. 7, 2026
The City of Orange Beach is monitoring updates on newly formed Tropical Storm Isaias from the National Hurricane Center and our local National Weather Service bureau in Mobile. We will continuously provide updates as they become available.
Isaias is expected to strengthen into a hurricane and turn north, making landfall somewhere along the northern Gulf Coast, around Alabama, late in the week. Hurricane and Storm Surge Watches will likely be issued later today - Wednesday, Oct. 7th.
According to the National Weather Service, the earliest reasonable time of arrival of tropical storm force winds is Friday morning or afternoon.
Expected impacts include high winds, high surf, rip currents, storm surge, flash flooding, and tornadoes.
If the storm stays on its current track, we’ll see significant impacts and we want to all to be prepared to protect life and property as best possible. With an expected storm surge, stronger winds, more rain on top of last weekend’s drenching, residents are urged to prepare now.
--> For those living in low-lying areas, mobile homes and RVs, please take all necessary precautions.
--> Sand and sandbags are available for residents to fill themselves behind City Hall at 4099 Orange Beach Blvd. A shovel is provided if individuals do not have one.
--> If you have a boat or vessel, secure it or move it to higher ground.
--> With high winds likely, residents and local property owners are encouraged to secure all outside items around their properties, such as patio furniture, umbrellas, awnings, and trash/recycling receptacles.
--> For hurricane re-entry decal information, visit the City Website at https://www.orangebeachal.gov/274/Hurricane-Decals.
--> After Wednesday, please keep the right-of-way and curbs in front of your home clear of debris.
--> There will be a high risk of high surf and life-threatening rip currents through the weekend. Single red flags are flying today - Wednesday. For a detailed beach report, call 251-981-SURF (7873).
