As we bring our first multi-property season to a close, my heart is full of Gratitude:
For Dan, for empowering and challenging me to get serious about the complex art of property management;
For the amazing team that has worked diligently and often over-time to make this reality possible;
For my children, for their patience and sometimes help throughout the six-month grind of being almost perpetually on-call 24/7...
For my friends, who fielded many hours of listening to and offering advice about the dynamics of learning and navigating a new business, team dynamics, and leadership...
and ofcourse,
For our hundreds of guests, who booked and enjoyed their family vacations at these beautiful properties.
I can't begin to describe the depth of the journey these properties have taken us through.
In addition and despite the challenging renovations, soul journeys and lessons:
We got almost consistent Five-Star reviews,
We almost tripled the prior owners' gross from their season,
And I surpassed my own goals for the season.
Late fall and winter season will bring with it much reflection, accounting, and planning for next year's season.
I am looking forward to more time for hiking, writing, learning and composing music, diving deeper into learning business and leadership skills, and of course, spending time with my children and extended family.
I can't think of a better place to do this from than from the Lakeside Lodge itself.
Really grateful and excited to be based from there this season. Stop by and visit for a hike, paddle, or icy dip in the pond :)
