What does it mean to go the distance? 🏃

For Ken, 40+ years of marathon running have been a lesson in putting one foot in front of the other. Now, he’s helping the next generation take their first steps.

Through the IAAPA Foundation, Ken is supporting scholarships 🎓, education 📚 and career opportunities 💼 that help future leaders build their careers. For a limited time, IAAPA will match donations, making every dollar go twice as far!

It is with immense sadness that we mourn the passing of Dolly Parton. She was a legendary singer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist, entrepreneur, attraction designer, and a beloved figure whose influence reached far beyond the world of entertainment.

For those of us in the attractions industry, Dolly’s legacy carries special meaning. In 1986, she partnered with Herschend to bring Dollywood Parks & Resorts to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. What began as a shared vision for the region grew into one of America's most beloved theme parks and a world-class resort destination welcoming millions of guests each year.

Through Dollywood, Dolly demonstrated the powerful role attractions can play in creating joy, strengthening communities, and bringing generations of families together.

In recognition of her remarkable contributions and lasting influence on the global attractions industry, Dolly was inducted into the IAAPA Hall of Fame in 2025.

Her impact on our industry and on the countless people who experienced her generosity and unmistakable spirit will be felt for generations.

On behalf of IAAPA, we extend our deepest condolences to Dolly's family, friends, colleagues, the entire Herschend and Dollywood family, and all those around the world mourning her loss.

Who turns natural wonders into world-class destinations? IAAPA Members Do.
We help them bring global insights back to local experiences.

For Cássia, a memorable visit is built one thoughtful detail at a time. Across operations, food and beverage, retail, and exclusive experiences, she and her team look for opportunities to surprise, simplify, and create moments guests carry with them long after they leave.

Through IAAPA, Cássia brings global insight back to Iguaçu, helping her team benchmark, learn, and continue elevating the visitor journey. That insight supports experiences that strengthen the destination, the local community, and Brazil’s position as a world-class tourism destination.

Happy National Water Park Day! 🏊 Last month, more than 500 children participated in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. With support from Disney lifeguards and Olympic gold medalist Simone Manuel, they practiced lifesaving skills, built confidence in the water, and had plenty of fun.
