Illuminate the Decades: 150th Kickoff Celebration

The City of Daytona Beach will kick off its sesquicentennial celebration with Illuminate the Decades from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 24, at the historic Oceanfront Bandshell, 70 Boardwalk.
The free community celebration will transport guests through the decades with music, entertainment and experiences honoring the people, places and moments that have shaped Daytona Beach over the past 150 years. Residents and visitors are encouraged to dress in attire representing their favorite decade and join the city for an evening of nostalgia, community pride and celebration.
The event will feature music by DJ Tremble and Alyssa of 103.3 The VIBE, along with decade-themed entertainment, including stilt walkers and roller-skating performers.
Food vendors will also be on-site throughout the evening.
The celebration concludes with a spectacular drone light show presented by ICI Homes, illuminating the night sky over the Atlantic Ocean. The first performance begins at 9 p.m., with an encore presentation at 9:45 p.m. The custom drone show will celebrate Daytona Beach's past, present and future while officially launching the city's 150th anniversary weekend.
The city's yearlong sesquicentennial celebration commemorates 150 years since Daytona Beach was incorporated on July 26, 1876, honoring the community's rich history while looking ahead to its future.
