Ocean East Weekly Update:
The insurance company's private adjusters are here this week. They are going room by room documenting the damage done by Ian. Once they are done, they will present their findings to the insurance company. After which, the insurance company will make their initial settlement proposal. We are currently getting multiple bids on the various projects needed.
This reconstruction project is going to be a slow process as a very high percentage of the local labor market has went over to the west coast of Florida where the pay is much higher, the contractors are overwhelmed with request for bids and the availability of materials, which was already bad due to COVID, is worse than ever before.
95% of the damage at Ocean East is in the inside of the building. We have our staff as well as our contractor’s staff working 16 hours a day protecting and preparing the building for the needed repairs. Fortunately, we are in the financial position to not to have to wait on any insurance money before we start the reconstruction.
We would like the continued support of our Owners and ask the ‘armchair quarterbacks’ to reframe from publishing negative information on social media.
We will continue to post periodic updates as the situation changes and there is relevant information to distribute.
