It’s turtle season and that means leave the beach flat and unobstructed after your day of fun in the sun (no chairs, cabanas, umbrellas, holes, or sandcastles)

Too Soon.😭

Just weeks ago, we shared the heartbreaking story of a rare Kemp’s ridley sea turtle that became entangled in abandoned beach equipment.

Today, like many days, this is what greeted us on the beach.

Beach chairs. Floats. Toys. Trash. 🗑️

Thankfully, there wasn’t another turtle caught in it this morning. But that’s the point here…we don’t get to decide when wildlife encounters what we leave behind.

Every chair.
Every float.
Every rope.
Every forgotten toy.

To some, it’s something we’ll grab tomorrow.
To a sea turtle, it can become a barrier, an entanglement, or the last obstacle they ever face!

has never been about making the beach look nice. It’s about giving wildlife the chance to survive.

If you brought it to the beach, take it home with you.

Leave only footprints.
Leave nothing behind.
LEAVE NO TRACE.

Because the next turtle deserves better. 🐢💚
