Some venues offer a room.
We offer a river.

Exchange vows on the banks of the Clearwater, celebrate with your favorite people, then stay the night just steps away.

Wedding day = handled.

Remembering Paul Pippenger

This week, we are mourning the loss of Paul Pippenger, our owner, and the visionary behind so much of what the Lodge at River’s Edge has become.

The Lodge began with a vision Paul shared with his wife, Lee Anne. Where an old car scrapyard once sat along the banks of the Clearwater River, they imagined something beautiful, a place that would welcome people to Orofino and reflect the pride Paul had in the community he called home.

Together, they brought that vision to life. Over the years, we have watched the Lodge become a place for weddings, celebrations, community gatherings, family reunions, and visitors from around the world. We are incredibly proud to be part of what Paul and Lee Anne created here.

But we will remember the smaller moments, too. Seeing Paul out front in the morning feeding the fish in the pond was simply part of life at the Lodge. Those are the moments we will miss most.

Paul’s story extends far beyond the Lodge, and we hope you’ll take a few minutes to read about his life, his family, and the community he loved in his obituary published by the Clearwater Tribune:

We will gather to celebrate Paul’s life here at the Lodge on Monday, September 28, at 2 p.m.

We are grateful for what Paul built, for the memories we shared with him, and for the opportunity to carry forward a small part of his legacy.

We will miss you, Paul.
