The 2026 season is in the books and truly one for the ages!

The Richardson family is incredibly grateful for the wonderful circle of family, friends and Shangri-La families who make the resort possible and, more importantly, make it so enjoyable!

This season was bookended by two fantastic fundraisers that helped push the Orr community across the finish line toward a new pickleball and tennis facility, that will be ready for everyone to enjoy next summer! Huge thanks to all the volunteers, with a special shout-out to The Northwood's Band, The McCullough Brothers, Dan Wolfe and Uncle Eric for donating their time and talents to our events at The Dam Supper Club/Restaurant and Orr Legion.

What makes every season special is watching families and friends come together. Kids having a blast in the lake and woods, boats heading to favorite fishing spots, cookouts, laughter, and memories being made.

The dock is tucked away for its winter nap, water lines are cleared, cabins are buttoned up, and we’re already looking forward to 2027!

Thank you all for another unforgettable season at Shangri-La!

Congratulations Bob!!!

BACK ON THE PODIUM! 🎣🏆 Some anglers just know how to make a habit of catching big bass. Congratulations to Robert Voss of Illinois, who took second place in this year’s Pelican Lake Fall Bass Tournament with an impressive 19.75-inch largemouth bass. Robert stayed at Shangri-La Resort while competing, and this isn’t his first time near the top. He also tied for second place two years ago. Looks like Pelican Lake keeps calling him back for more. 🎣

Hi, this is the resort speaking. Technically, I’m an inanimate object, but I like to think I have a heart and soul. This will be my last non-resort-specific post, but if you’re in the area, please stop by this Sunday! It’ll be a lot of fun and supports a great cause. We hope to have the project done this fall.
