We are a mother, son, daughter team and the aunt, best friend, and cousin of the previous owner of Jess’s Place. Due to a motorcycle accident in 2022, she is no longer here with us, but hope you can feel her

Love for life,

Energy in everything she did,

Excitement in the little things,

And enjoy the beautiful house she created, as you stay with us in a very special place. She would be deligh

BUT, we also could never have reached this goal without such amazing groups that love and care about Jess's Place equally as much!

An interesting fact for you...

The most common use of Jess's Place is:

Football Hall of Fame visitors

Game nights
Local Events (competitions, trainings, band groups)
Work crews
Grief meetings with local churches
Birthing classes
People passing through the area
Missionary families

The most touching was a guest that was meeting his college aged daughter for the first time!

This review sums up why we do what we do. 1) We fiercely loved Jess. 2) Desire for others to see, know, and understand the importance of family and spend all the time they can with them. 3) And desire to be a blessing to the community and those beyond. It's why we make sacrifices and work so hard to provide a clean, comfortable, and flexible space.

My mom just commented this morning:
"Two years ago when our green beans just started growing, I picked a hand full of green beans and cooked them just for her because she LOVED them! I promised her that the following day I would pick the whole patch and make sure she got a healthy portion. Little did I know that would be her last meal."

Today we remember her laughter, her love for life, her desire to improve herself and how much we so so miss her! We know...

Today we remember her laughter, her love for life, her desire to improve herself and how much we so so miss her! We know that she not only touched our lives and those around her, but also touched many of the lives that have come through her house. If we would have told her two years ago that her life was gonna bless so many people, she would have laughed at us :) We are forever grateful to all the amazing guests we've had walk through her doors. Not only have you encouraged us and inspired us, you've also cared and loved on a place we love so dearly. We couldn't do Jess's Place without each one of you!

We do not understand the why.
But, we do understand the pain of losing someone.
Instead of planning her annual "birthday at the park" (with no singing permitted by her), we sat around her dining room table sharing in the grief and pain of yet another individual taken too soon.
Two years later, still hurts like yesterday.
Like my husband so beautifully put it this morning:
Grief isn't a circle in life that gets smaller as the years go by. It stays the same size but life starts to grow around that circle. I would like to believe, that a little sprig of life sprouted around that circle this morning.

It's no secret our guests get a fresh loaf of sourdough bread. And it's no secret I'm a no-frills kind of gal. My thrift store bread machine has gifted me many hours/years of kneading and mixing that bread every week. She's been faithful but in need of help. Thanks to my younger brother and his wife we have a new one to keep the project going!

When the housekeeper (mom) runs off with Jessica Steiner 's mom to Michigan, we get to clean for the next group .. And for the next one.
We couldn't do this without our faithful and diligent mom nor our faithful and diligent housekeeper. Sure hope she decides to come back!! 😉
