Okay so I just did something pretty scary, i shut down the campsite and cabins for the summer. I'm doing this to put all my effort into the wedding venue. I'm forcing myself to be productive! I'm cutting 2 proven revenue streams to chase this dream. No more safety net, no excuses, just get the it done. In a 5 year period I started the campground and went from one small site to the most visited hipcamp in Washington. I take a lot of pride in the relationships I built with campers that continually come back multiple times a year. I'm really sad and it actually hurts my heart, that I'm taking away their favorite local camping spot, but it's time for me to be selfish and put myself and my future first. That's something I don't do nearly enough. Time for another adventure, and traveling down that unknown road, and to discover and enjoy all the new challenges and joys that come with this decision. Thanks for all the support and referrals over the last 5 years.

“This property was a vision of a dear friend, Bill Bruzas, who wanted to share his love for art, music, the outdoors, and good people. Sadly Bill passed away a few years ago, and I have been given the gracious opportunity by his family to complete and add to his dream. Over the time since Bill’s passing the property became overgrown and quite an all around mess. I’ve been out here cutting back, cleaning up, and rejuvenating the idea of what this place can be. With some help from dear friends and a lot of sweat and labor, we earned our bumps and bruises to reclaim its glory. We’ve made so much progress in such a short time doing what we can daily. Soon we’ll go from recovery to building a bright future for this amazing piece of property. Out of respect for Bill and his family, I decided to honor him and with his vision by naming the place Bumps & Bruzas.” ~Pat Obrien


  • Here’s some information about the property for those who’re interested: A very simple property on the Carbon River about 800ft of river front. Couple of fire rings, nothing fancy yet! We have one campsite with a private fire ring, which is first come first serve. We also have a large community fire-pit that's open to everyone at all times. Just a great place to relax and unplug. Right across the street is the foothills trail 25 miles or so of paved walking path. We’re a short drive to Mt. Rainer, camping style is open, you pick the spot you’d like because we've got 5 sites, so it's never over crowded. We are dog friendly, with 4 dogs on the property already, so if your pooch loves to mingle bring 'em along! This is a family friendly casual environment to enjoy.
