Big Stone Lake Fishing Report:
W**d Line Walleyes and Shallow Bluegills Highlight Latest Angling Action
Anglers looking to find consistent action this week should turn their attention to the w**ds and shallow flats, as the local bite is starting to heat up across several key community hotspots.
Walleyes and Crappies Coaxed from the W**ds
The walleye bite has been steady for those targeting the green stuff. Successful anglers are currently working the w**d pockets and distinct w**d lines. The most productive presentation by far has been a classic presentation: a **slip cork (slip bobber) paired with a nightcrawler or leech. While the walleyes are cooperating nicely with this setup, panfish anglers will have to work a little harder for crappies, as the bite has slowed some.
Bluegills Moving Shallow
For those looking to target bluegills, the shallow-water action is picking up beautifully. A great pattern has developed in **4 to 6 feet of water**, where hungry bluegills are actively hitting **leeches**. Setting up on shallow flats or near emerging structure in these depths should yield plenty of action.
Bass Getting Active
Reports from the Classic Bass anglers are that the big bass are hitting and a good tournament is expected on Tuesday this week on Big Stone Lake.
Where to Cast
If you are planning your next launch, the best reports have been around the islands area and mid-lake.
Grab some crawlers, a tub of leeches, and hit the water—the summer pattern is officially locked in.
