Job description
We are looking for a Hotel Front Desk Agent/Night Auditor to serve as our guests’ first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation. Hotel Front Desk Agent/Night Auditor responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations, and providing information about rooms, rates, and amenities. If you have a knack for customer service and work experience in the hotel industry, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help create a pleasant and memorable stay for our guests. As a business in the hospitality industry and as a member of Choice Hotels, this hotel aims to create a warm and friendly culture both for its guests and for its employees. We prioritize the goals and professional development of our team members, and so we are seeking ambitious and committed guest services representatives/night auditors.
Responsibilities
Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
Manage online and phone reservations
Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenities
Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
Keep lobby area and public areas neat and tidy.
Help with laundry.
Prepare breakfast and keep area tidy, clean, and stocked.
Greet and converse courteously with guests
Create and manage guest reservations in person, over the phone, by fax, and by email
Become familiar with the Choice Advantage reservation system
Manage cash register and mediate room payments
Become familiar with attractions in and navigation of the Ottawa area
Contribute to the positive and friendly culture created by the Front of House team
Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and with team members
Arrive punctually and with consistency
Qualifications
Social and friendly demeanor
Computer and typing skills
Ability to multitask
Ability to maintain punctual and consistent attendance
Quick thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Well-developed communication skills
Ability to maintain Choice Hotel standards
High standard of customer service
Skills
Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, or similar role
Experience with hotel reservations software
Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking and TripAdvisor
