Hi All –
This is an incredibly hard post to write. I usually shy away from first person narrative because one of our goals as an organization is to stress that this is an organization for the community, by the community. It is a movement that was created because of feedback from the community, and our purpose is to serve this community. That’s why I have always tried to use “we,” because I am just one representative of all the amazing volunteerism happening behind the scenes. Hundreds upon hundreds of hours have been given by so many people to help move our mission forward.
I was incredibly fortunate, though, to be able to say that my job was to wake up every day and think, “What can I do today that can help some aspect of the community I live in?” I have been extremely blessed to be a part of leading this movement for the last three years. However, I am no longer able to serve as its Executive Director. I absolutely plan to stay involved, but I am writing this now because we are looking for our next leader.
This organization has changed me, and I truly believe it is changing our community in so many good ways. And we are nowhere near done. We are looking for someone who can take the reins and lead us into our next era. Someone who dreams. Someone who listens. Someone who can turn ideas into action. Someone who believes in the power of a community coming together.

With all my heart, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve this community that I love so much. Thank you for all of the support you have given me and this organization over the last three years. I am incredibly proud of what we have built together, and I am even more excited to see where this movement goes next. And I know you will give a warm welcome to whomever leads us into this next phase.
