🎆🎆4TH OF JULY SCHEDULE!

Hello Campers! The Lazy Acres annual Independence Day celebration will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Here’s the agenda for our fun family activities that day:

🇺🇸12:00 pm – The Parade will start at Site #1 with Josie Drehs as the Grand Marshall (please gather there around 11:45). Site #1 is the first camp site on the left side of the field as you enter the campgrounds. All are welcome in the parade. Decorate your golf cart, ATV, etc. and join us for a lap around the campgrounds!

🏃‍♀️1:00 pm – The 2nd Annual Lazy Acres Color Run organized by Deanna Gworek, Melissa Maser and Debbie Pokerwinski. Join us in the open field along the road as you enter the campgrounds. This event open to all ages! Participants can walk or run around a small course while volunteers shower them with colored powders made from corn starch or chalk (they are safe and should wash out of your clothes if you want them to). For the best results wear a white or bright shirt. This event was a big success last year!

🥚2:00 pm – Egg Hunt for the kids organized by Sharon Lenz. Have your children meet in the Pavilion before hunting. Please refrain from picking up eggs until we start the hunt!

🧺3:00 pm – Basket Raffle back by popular demand! Please have your baskets to the pavilion by 3:00. Ticket sales will begin at 3:30 and baskets will be distributed to the winners during dinner. 100% of the ticket sales will be split equally and donated to the Otto Fire Department and Mercy Flight. Thanks to all who are able to make a donation to this worthwhile cause!

🚒New This Year – Sometime in the afternoon, the Otto Fire Department will bring some of their firefighting equipment for Show and Tell. If available, Mercy Flight is scheduled to land in the front field at approx. 3:45 to provide Emergency Training Services to the Otto Fire Department. For everyone’s safety, please obey instructions while the helicopter is landing.

🍽5:00 pm – Dinner in the pavilion. Lazy Acres will provide all the food (please don’t bring a dish to pass). We’ll have hot dogs, hamburgers, roast beef sandwiches and sides will include salads and baked beans. Bring your own drinks (some water and juice boxes available).

🎶🎸7:00 pm – Live music by Silver Xtreme (a Lazy Acres favorite!) booked by Gail Olgilvie.

🎆Dusk – Fireworks Display The band will take a break while Gary West and Kevin Doran provide us with an awesome show! Band resumes playing after the fireworks. Please refrain from your personal fireworks until the camp’s display is over.

This year's 4th of July party will be held on the 5th of July. We will be once again holding a basket raffle. Proceeds and donations will be split 50/50 with Mercy Flight and Otto Fire. Any and all basket donations are greatly appreciated. More details to follow in the coming days.

Just a FYI, this weekend, on Sunday, 5/25/25, there will be a wedding being held at the pavilion. The bride and groom ask that you refrain from joining the festivities until the fire has been lit. Then everyone is welcome to come congratulate and celebrate with the newlyweds!
