People typically arrive with an impressive (pronounced: aggressive 😉) agenda.

By day 2, the lodge is working its magic.

Ravenous appetites return.
Deep luscious sleep.
A bodily sigh of satisfaction slips out between the trail, the hot tub, and dinner.

Hayden runs on a slow-burn bounty.
A wee splendid sloth.

Dad deserves a better backdrop on Father’s Day.

How about a fresh take on celebration for the daddio who already has enough golf balls and grill tools?

Take your dad somewhere he can relax rather than always wanting to lend a hand. Or if you’re the papa, trade screens and schedules for a few days of real time with your kiddos while they still want to hang around with you.

Big ATV crew. 🙋🏾‍♀️🙋‍♂️Dust in the air before breakfast.

Keys hit the table and engines fire, the whole pack rolling out together. You ride hard and laugh louder, someone wiping out, popping up, taking a bow.

Coolers to stay hydrated, heads stay clear, and the throttle talks. Kids chase Eugene through the yard while an aunt settles into the tailgate as stories getting better by the minute. 🐟 😉

Dinner is family-style, plates and stories passed. Lil Jimmy is asleep in his elk chili as the sky fades to stars.

You came to rip it up, and you leave spent and smiling.

A late-season San Juans’ storm is lining up, and when it lands, this weekend is set up beautifully for corn snow harvesters.

While many switched to summer mode, the high alpine is stacking snow.

Today’s game is patience. Storm rolls through. Sun follows. Freeze-thaw does its thing. 
Then comes the magic window. Big spring lines are a good reminder why you are obsessed in the first place.

At 11,000 feet, Hayden is still very much in season. Wake up. Drink coffee. Watch the basin light up. Skin straight from the lodge.

Ever had a day where your watch stays on the nightstand and you dismiss the need for tracking miles?

Time slips by.

Somewhere between coffee and the trailhead in the Colorado backcountry, your limbs loosen. 
By afternoon, you’re skipping singletrack like a kid who forgot to be self-conscious.

A person you pass teaches you how to yodel. Go ahead, try. It echoes across the San Juan Mountains. And then… impossibly… someone yodels back.
You snort. It catches you off guard.

Dinner time at the lodge. Long table. New faces. Stories start light, then something shifts.
You notice the moment small talk falls away and people actually connect.

A new friend is made. You didn’t plan for this. This only shows up when you travel solo, stay open, and give yourself a few days in nature.

Eugene, G, Eug, G Cosmo, Super G has been home for 4 days after being rescued from the shelter in Montrose. He is 10 months old and all puppy. Never been on a walk, never played just been in jail. He is tripping hard in the best way on his new life and getting up to speed quickly each day.
