JULY 5 | Workshop and/or Performance Options | Time on the String and The Grand Lodge

Natalie (cello) and Brittany (fiddle) Haas, American acoustic string musicians and composers are coming to Paducah for workshop/performance!
YOU CAN attend both (workshop and performance) or pick and choose!!
Sisters Natalie (cello) and Brittany (fiddle) Haas began their musical lives together, filling their childhood home with Bach suites and old-time tunes alike. It was on their own, however-following divergent paths through disparate musical traditions, countries, and cultures-that they both arrived as virtuosi and composers at the highest levels of contemporary string music. Fans of acoustic music can hardly mention one without referencing the other’s work. It is a collaboration a lifetime in the making, and a music encompassing travels through time and through the world. From Nashville to Norway, the Celtic Isles to California, Natalie and Brittany have absorbed, adapted, and made their own world of music. The result? HAAS. WORKSHOP: Learn a tune by ear, delve deep into stylistic ideas including left and right hand techniques, and explore all the ways to provide back up for it including harmonies, riffs, basic chordal substitutions, shuffling, chopping, and creating a cohesive arrangement with many repetitions of the same melody. All bowed stringed instruments welcome.

Hailing from, and proudly remaining in, the river town of Jeffersonville, Indiana, singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso Nick Dittmeier has spent more than a decade chronicling Midwestern lives through a sharp, evolving blend of roots music. Backed by the Sawdusters—Shelley Anderson on bass and Chase Palmer on drums—the trio has built its reputation through relentless touring across the U.S. and Europe and a steady run of records grounded in narrative songwriting and grit.

HOLLERHEAD is an Almo based alt-country/Americana band known for blending gritty storytelling with soulful, high-energy roots rock. Their “Long Time Coming” EP and viral video for “The Devil’s in the Details” helped launch their sound beyond Western Kentucky, catching the attention of Nashville producers and a growing fanbase.

For the past nineteen years, The Hooten Hallers have been tearing up the road, blending blues, garage rock, country, punk, and jazz into a sound that’s truly their own. The band’s high-octane live shows must be experienced to be believed, with their raucous jams, tight vocal harmonies, and danceable grooves that make for a wild night and an unforgettable music experience.
This powerhouse trio is driven by the vocal growl and swirling electric and lap steel guitars of John Randall, the powerful drumming and falsetto howl of Andy Rehm, and the burning baritone and bass saxophone lines of Kellie Everett. It’s Morphine meets ZZ Top mixed with a dash of George Thorogood and Tom Waits. But anyone who has seen this band live knows that this group is unlike anything they’ve experienced before. When The Hooten Hallers come to town, you know it’s gonna be a party!
