After more than 50 years, our family is passing the campground on to its new owners, Chris and Brandon Berry. The land has been part of our family for over 100 years, and in 1972 Roy and Sherry Wood purchased the campground from Roy’s mom, nurturing it through many seasons of growth and change. What took shape here became far more than a business — it became a cherished vacation tradition for so many families. We’ve watched children who once spent their summers here return as adults with families of their own, carrying their memories forward and creating new ones along the way.
My parents have met countless wonderful people over the years — campers who shared stories, laughter, and moments that stayed with us long after each season ended. Many became like family, and those relationships are what made this place truly special.
Letting go is bittersweet, but it’s time to retire with full and grateful hearts. We are deeply thankful for every person who camped with us, supported us, and helped turn this campground into a place filled with meaning, tradition, and lifelong memories.
