Some places become more than somewhere you vacation. They become part of your family's story. ❤️

Panama City Beach has become that for ours.

The emerald water and white sand may be what brings us back, but some of our favorite memories happen after we leave the beach — walking Pier Park, riding the SkyWheel, watching the sunset and simply being together.

This year, Dolly Parton added another experience for families to enjoy when she brought Pirates Voyage to Panama City Beach. 🏴‍☠️

Dolly's legacy reaches far beyond her music. She created experiences, opportunities and memories for generations of families — and we're grateful that one of her newest adventures became part of a place we love so much.

PCB will always be about the beach for us...

But somewhere along the way, it became about all the memories around it too. 🌴🌊🎡

That's a big part of why we created The Sunset Surf House — a place where families can slow down, spend time together and hopefully leave PCB with a few stories of their own.

Dolly touched so many lives in so many different ways — through her music, her generosity, the places she created and the memories families made because of them. ❤️

🐾 Apparently it’s National Dog Day, so this seems like a good time to mention something we don’t talk about enough…

The Sunset Surf House is pet friendly!

We know for a lot of families, the dog is part of the family — and leaving them behind can make planning a vacation a little harder.

So yes, your four-legged family member can come along too. 🐶

And with a private backyard, plenty of room to hang out, and the beach just a short walk away, there’s plenty for the humans to enjoy too.

If you gave us one day to plan for you while you're staying in PCB, this would be a contender.

Start with coffee and breakfast at The Pour from The Sunset Surf House this is a ten minute drive, then get out of town for a bit and spend the middle of the day kayaking the crystal-clear water at Cypress Springs with Cypress Springs Adventures here you can rent Kayaks for starting at $50 which is 1hr from The Sunset Surf House.

Head back to PCB, clean up, relax for a while, then finish the night with dinner and live music at Dat Cajun Place here you can feed a lot of people with only a few meals and enjoy life music. Dat Cajun place is a 9 minute drive from The Sunset Surf House. Last stop, swing by Hershey's Ice Cream to end the day with your favorite flavor of ice cream. You can get here in 3 min by driving or take a night stroll and enjoy your ice cream on the beach.

Beach vacations don't have to mean doing the beach every single day.

Sometimes getting out and exploring a little is what makes the trip.

Everyone thinks of Panama City Beach as a summer destination… but we might actually love it even more after summer. 🌴🌅

If you’ve ever wondered what PCB is like in September or October, here are 3 reasons we think fall deserves a spot on your beach-trip calendar:

☀️ It still feels like summer.
Warm days, warm Gulf water and some of those incredible cotton-candy sunsets PCB is known for.

🌊 Less rush. More vacation.
The summer crowds begin to settle down, which can mean less traffic, shorter waits and a little more room to actually slow down and enjoy being here.

✨ Throwback Thursday ✨

Every transformation starts with someone seeing what could be instead of what is.

Swipe through these photos and you’ll see an old backyard filled with weeds, clutter, and an aging shed. That’s what most people saw.

We saw something different.

We imagined kids racing to the pool before breakfast.

Parents laughing around a fire after the beach.

Grandparents watching from Adirondack chairs while the kids played co****le.

Conversations that lasted a little longer because nobody was ready to go inside.

Every load of gravel.
Every gallon of paint.
Every late night.
Every weekend project.

None of it was really about landscaping.

It was about creating a place where families could reconnect in a world that moves too fast.

Today, this backyard has become the backdrop for birthdays, family vacations, sunsets, cannonballs, marshmallows, and memories we hope last long after the tan lines fade.

PCB made the top 25 beaches in the U.S. and I know why. Clear emerald blue water, awesome people, plenty of places to stay, so many amazing opportunities to enjoy the water in fun ways, white sand beach, places with jetties to make kid play in the water safe and calm, wildlife in abundance, amazing restaurants and drinks to enjoy right on the beach. Plan a trip now as space is filling up and come see for yourself what makes it so special.
