As we head into the Fourth of July weekend, traffic is already picking up, and unfortunately we’ve responded to several serious crashes today.

This photo was taken while our officers were assisting at the scene of one of those crashes alongside the Life Flight helicopter. It’s a reminder that what starts as a normal day can change in an instant.

I want everyone to enjoy this holiday weekend, but more importantly, I want everyone to make it home safely. Slow down, put the phone away, buckle up, and never drive impaired.

My officers will be out all weekend doing everything they can to keep our roads safe. Please do your part, look out for each other, and help us make this a safe Fourth of July for everyone.
