Panama City beach rental. It’s Manatee season! If you love looking in the water for creatures our condo is the best on the gulf for that. We are located less than a mile from Pier Park with all the restaurants, shopping, and anything else you can imagine to do.

🦈 Florida beachgoers will soon get real-time shark attack warnings pushed straight to their phones, thanks to a new federal law called "Lulu's Law." The legislation is named after Lulu Gribbin, a teenager from Alabama who lost her left hand and part of her right leg during a 2024 shark attack along Florida's Panhandle in Walton County. That same day, another swimmer, Elisabeth Foley, was attacked just 90 minutes later and less than four miles away, and also lost her arm. Gribbin's family revealed that an earlier bite in the same stretch of water had gone without any public warning, a gap in information that could have kept her out of the water entirely. 📱

President Trump signed the bill into law, officially classifying shark attacks as emergencies eligible for Wireless Emergency Alerts, the same system that powers AMBER Alerts across the country. Warnings will be geofenced, meaning alerts will only go to phones within a certain distance of the attack site, keeping notifications targeted rather than widespread. 🌊 Alerts will be limited strictly to confirmed, unprovoked shark attacks. The Federal Communications Commission now has 180 days to build and launch the new system, which passed the Senate unanimously and cleared the House with strong bipartisan support before reaching the President's desk.
