Although this year's wildflower display has been impacted by the drought, they're still out there - and summer's not quite over yet! Not to mention Kebler Pass, which seasonally connects Paonia to Crested Butte and the Gunnison Valley, is arguably at its most glorious in the fall when the aspen leaves are turning their signature golden. Thank you National Geographic for highlighting some lovely mountain itineraries here in Colorado!

An enduring house classic since making its first appearance in 2024, our crowd-pleasing Grits & Greens dish starts with cheese grits, topped with our signature orange sauce*, braised chard, cilantro crema, and a "fancy egg" with paprika oil.

While we would have added some lodging options, especially here in the North Fork Valley, we appreciated the inclusion of the West Elks AVA wineries and they hit some local highlights with Qutori Wine, The Storm Cellar, and !

Every once in a while we like to mine our trove of photos for something fun, or that we're particularly proud of, and this categorically ticks both of those boxes. Back in 2021 at that year's Wine & Dine Escape, we served homemade Fernet Branca oreos alongside oak ice cream for dessert, a combination that to this day stands out amongst our favorites. Cheers to the New York-Milan connection!

Fun historical fact: present-day Chelsea Market in NYC is housed in the original National Biscuit Company factory, where Oreos were first produced in 1912.

Straight from the governor's mouth, folks... and we agree, the West Elks AVA | Colorado Wine Country DOES need to be on your list! From crisp whites and rosés, to Pinot Noir, to lesser-known varieties like Vignoles, Primitivo and Itasca, the vintages being produced in this wine region are gaining attention and for good reason!

Governor Jared Polis Colorado wine deserves a spot on your list. 🍷

From the vineyards of the West Elks AVA to the orchards and farms of the North Fork Valley, Paonia and Hotchkiss are showing the world what Colorado can grow at high elevation.

Another reason to explore the Western Slope.
