MS GULF COAST LABOR DAY WEEKEND FISHING REPORT

NOT AI GENERATED HOURS AND HOURS OF FISHING, DRAGGING TRAWLS AND THROWING CAST NETS THIS WEEK

Friday • September 4, 2026
Bay St. Louis / Waveland, Mississippi

The water is finally starting to look like we want it to.

🌊 TIDES

High: 4:27 AM — 2.3 ft
Low: 5:25 PM — -0.2 ft
Sunrise: 6:36 AM
Sunset: 7:16 PM
Moon: Third Quarter — 46%

That’s a long outgoing tide through the daylight hours. I’d be looking for bait getting pulled off the flats and through drains, cuts and deeper edges.

💧 SALINITY

17.2 PPT — BayouBos field reading

This is the number we’ve been waiting to see.

Yesterday we measured 15.9 PPT. Today we’re at 17.2 PPT.

More importantly, from what we’re seeing on the water, the white shrimp have fully moved back inshore.

That’s a BIG deal.

The shrimp being back, along with the improving salinity, has us expecting a heck of a Labor Day weekend bite if these conditions hold.

🌦️ FRIDAY WEATHER

The morning starts with scattered thunderstorms possible, with temperatures in the upper 70s/low 80s.

Keep an eye on the radar before heading out.

🎯 FISHING OUTLOOK

🟥 REDfish — GOOD
With shrimp back inshore, redfish have plenty of reason to move shallow and feed. Work drains, points, marsh edges and current breaks.

🐟 SPECKLED TROUT — GOOD POTENTIAL
The salinity is heading the right direction. Find cleaner water with shrimp or other bait around it and stay there.

🟤 FLOUNDER — GOOD
The outgoing tide should push plenty of food toward drains and deeper edges. Work the bottom around cuts, points and sandy transitions.

🦐 THE BIG STORY

THE WHITE SHRIMP ARE BACK.

After watching the salinity drop and the bait disappear with the east winds, seeing the shrimp move back inshore is one of the best signs we’ve had.

17.2 PPT + shrimp back inshore + a strong outgoing tide = we’re getting excited about this weekend.

🧊 BAYOUBOS BAIT — OPEN 24/7

We’ve got plenty of:

🦐 Live Shrimp
🐟 Live Mullet
🦐 Live Cocahoes
🐟 Live Pogies

WE CATCH OUR OWN BAIT AND KNOW EXACTLY WHERE IT COMES FROM 😊

Bay St. Louis, MS 39520

24/7 SELF-SERVE

BAYOUBOS TAKE:
The bay is finally starting to look a whole lot better. The salinity is climbing, the shrimp are back inshore and the bait is where we want to see it.

Labor Day weekend could be a good one.
