Briarthorne Farms Bed & Breakfast

Briarthorne Farms Bed & Breakfast A quiet, peaceful home in the hills of Gallia County, Ohio. If you hear the clip-clop of horses it's our Amish neighbors.

We are a working farm, with a peaceful country setting where you may see deer, and at dusk hear the song of a whipporwill.

We are quite busy getting ready for winter. All the hay is baled and is ready for the cows to tuck into this winter. Today the electric fence was run around the hay fields and the cows are grazing the fields. We only do two cuttings for hay and let the cows eat the third. My granddaughter Chelsea married her love here on September 26, and while the ceremony in the hay field was dry, the reception was rained on. It was a good thing we had tents! We had a full house for the wedding, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves while they were here.

Fall is here, and we are getting ready for winter. We have been baling hay all summer, so we will have plenty for the cows to eat this winter when the snow flies!

Wow! It's been a while......make that a very long while, since I have visited this page! All is well here on the farm. My daughter's friend, and her daughter and grand daughter, spent the weekend with us, visiting from the Toledo area. They had a wonderful time, and can't wait the return visit to "the country".
We are anxiously awaiting the birth of several baby calves, so soon our pastures will have happy, healthy calves running around.

It's been a while since I visited my page! A lot is happening here! I have been fully booked since last Friday, until this Friday. A group of lovely women are here making felt, visiting the animals in the barn, visiting local attractions and businesses, and having a good time!

Good Job on the win last night Rebels! My granddaughter Chelsea was at the game and my great-granddaughter Katie is in the Rebel Marching Band. We have a lot of school spirit here on the farm!

The grandkids are back in school now. They are very busy with their studies and activities. Soon the days are going to start getting cooler, and the beautiful fall colors will once again grace our one little corner of the world.
