Hello There! My name is Jen CK Jacobs and as of August, I have taken the social media reins for Corinne and Bruce. My family has been staying at the Inn for nearly a decade and we consider The Pelican our "home away from home.”

I have worked for close to 15 years as an editorial photographer and published author () but these days you can find me keeping shop in my seaside-inspired boutique in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains

We are so happy you’re following along - look forward to wedding stories, recipes and of course, lots of photos that will have you pining for your next visit.

And don’t worry! Corinne still checks into this account, so if you have a note for her either in Comments or DMs - she’ll see it!

Have you ever found an infamous Pawley’s Island Shell? More commonly known throughout the world as an Imperial Venus Clam Shell, it is said that if you happen upon one of these beauties while staying on Pawley’s, the island is blessing your presence.

While they can be found in local shops as loose shells or embedded in jewelry (and of course the famous cast shells at ) - nothing beats the thrill of finding your first while beach combing in front of the Pelican Inn.

Our Lady of the Pelican. Our inn, and more importantly, the experience itself, would not be what it is if it were not for Corrine Taylor. Give this lovely lady some of your love! 📷 by recent guest, Geraldine Gennet.

Our Low Country dining is one of the highlights of staying at The Pelican. Not familiar with the term?

The “Low Country” itself stretches from coastal Georgia up through Pawley’s Island; the cuisine is inspired by the sea and local vegetation unique to the low elevations of the area. While some of our favorites include our shrimp boil, our popular breakfast grits and of course, our Sunday fried chicken… we’re curious what your favorite low country dishes at the Pelican might be? Let us know in the comments below...

The Pelican Inn

Tucked away on Pawleys Island is our historic beachfront getaway overlooking the marshes and beaches of South Carolina. Built in 1840, The Pelican Inn is the perfect summertime destination for families and couples alike. When you’re here, you can expect to awake in the morning to the smell of biscuits baking and the sound of waves crashing -- and later, you can wind down on the porch hammock or watch the sunset from the dock. With direct access to the beach, plenty of Southern hospitality to go around, and homemade meals every day, there’s no place better to relax and recharge than at The Pelican Inn.
