A new year, new things going on in the house! We hosted a family during Thanksgiving and that seemed to go well! We also had a family girls’ get-away the week after Christmas that was a lot of fun. My 2 daughters and 3 granddaughters and I left the guys behind and spent some time together, strengthening bonds and having a lot of laughs, not to mention good food! I highly recommend it, whether with family or a circle of friends, girl-time is important. We can say with confidence that Book Club week-ends have been a popular break from the ordinary!

It helped that the house now has heat in all bedrooms, bathrooms, dining room and the “Big Room” so colder weather isn’t a factor as in years before, which allows us to expand our rental season. Although the temperatures were mild while we were there, a chilly north wind popped up after a few days and I’m happy to say the improvements kept things very pleasant.

We are currently working on a few other maintenance-type items but all will be ready in March. Check out our schedule and sign up for time in a house with loads of room and an interesting history. Perhaps a guys’ fishing weekend could be arranged! There is no end to your imaginations, we’re sure. 😁👍

We’ve always thought of Log Inn as special…and we are very glad when others see it that way, too. We’ve had birthday and anniversay celebrations, have had some come to remember and pay tribute to a lost loved one, have had others come just for a bit of quiet healing after setbacks in their lives. The house does seem to put its arms around anyone who walks through the door. A couple weeks ago we had a very special celebration. An engagement! My grandson, Harry, and his sweetheart, Sydney, chose the house for hosting the joyous occasion. Made my heart very happy! 💕

We are always grateful when people choose Log Inn for their stay. You don’t even need a reason. Just come, put your feet up and relax. We’re here for ya!

We recently hosted a group of moms who were enjoying some “me” time at the house. We all need a break now and then and Log Inn is one of the best places I know for that. Plenty of space to spread out in cool comfort. Need a nap? Want to finish that book? Need some beach time? Crabbing, kayaking or just watching the sunset across the creek are the usual past-times while you dip your toes in the slow moving water. Check us out. And just say ahhhh.

🥶 Brrrr. Snow at the beach is a wonderful treat! ❄️ It’s kind of a “once-in-a-decade” event here in Pawleys Island and so much fun!

But, after a few days of freezing temps, it does leave us longing for the warm sunshiny days of spring and summer. We are ready to trade our snow boots for flip flops! 🩴

Our spring and summer calendar is filling up so we know others must be dreaming of warmer days too!

Thanksgiving has come and gone…lots of fun with family at the house. Bare feet and t-shirts one day, shoes and jackets the next. Pawleys’ weather is “your guess is as good as mine” this time of year. I remember wearing shorts around Christmas time many years ago…then my dad would be bringing armloads of firewood into the house a week later.

Log-Inn Olympics was in full swing on Thursday, after the feast. An assortment of random games for peeps of all ages…no running, jumping or anything else that might be considered strenuous was allowed. Some of us are getting old 🤣.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family, food and fun. Our temps have plummeted in the past two days. Christmas is coming and it feels like it. However, i expect we might have some mild days still. That’s what makes life on Pawleys Island so interesting. 🦃🎄🦃🎄🦃🎄🦃🎄

November already! That was a quick summer! The house is closed until spring…except for family use. Speaking of, I have family coming in for Thanksgiving. It’s been a few years since we’ve done this and we’re hoping for good weather…not too chilly, not too muggy. Y’know…Thanksgiving-type weather.

We are working on getting the house usable for colder weather because people do enjoy the island in winter when the beach is less crowded. Having said that, don’t wait too long to secure dates for next season. I know some summer weeks have already been taken so take a peek at the calendar on Airbnb or VRBO and get in touch. And if you’ve never been…here are a few pics to make it easier to decide. Log-Inn isn’t just a rental house, it’s a family house.

Summer is just a memory now…and it was a good one. We’ll still have warm days for another few weeks or so. But fall…that’s a favorite time to spend on Pawleys. Cool breezes blowing across the marsh. Open windows and doors blowing through the house, pleasant meals on the porch, time spent in Cap’n Joe’s fish camp on the creek, fishing, crabbing, taking a kayak out or just sitting and chatting, enjoying the view and peace. I was down there yesterday and took this very short video. It was somewhat blustery with a spritz of rain that i hardly felt at all under the trees. I was glad to discover a pokeweed bush by the fence..full of berries that the birds love. Brought back memories of when my sister, brother and I made an “Indian potion” from those dark purple berries, with a few other things thrown in. Simple fun from long ago.

We appreciated the new renters who visited this summer…and always love when past renters return. Check us out if you’re looking for a get-away from the rat race. We think you’ll have a hard time leaving.

We are happy someone will be in the house for the 4th! They are in for a lot of fun. And I hear there are incentives for being a part of the parade this year. Prizes that have been donated by local businesses. Trophies are nice but so is free food at one of our top-notch restaurants! So the floats should be extra special this year! Nothing like a little bit of friendly competition.

Cap’n Joe. The man behind the legend…or at least the signpost. Our dad loved to fish and spent many days taking the rowboat (not the one pictured here…) down to Pawleys’ southend, anchoring it across the creek, walking down the creek bank to Debordieu. That long stretch of beach, many miles worth, was not inhabited by humans then; it was isolated and pristine with only animal tracks scattered across the sand. During certain times of year, his father-in-law, who usually fished the florida keys, would go with him…they never returned empty-handed. The good old days.

Went over to the house to take some pics to share with you all. Many of our FB friends are previous renters but many new ones aren't familiar with the house and surrounding area. Renters often comment about how nice it is to have access to both creek and beach...and having a yard for kids is a bonus! Hope you enjoy the photos. Give us a holler if you need some down time. I can't think of a better place to get it.
