Sharing another wonderful Bug-Bee Memories!
My family and extended family has been coming to Bugbee since 2019- before the BugBee bench sign was even painted yellow! I remember coming on our very first trip, sitting on an Adirondack chair on the porch overlooking my then very small kids play and swim in the lake, while my parents relaxed in the porch swings sharing ice cream from the shoppe in the Lodge, and thinking: what a special special place BugBee is. I think we will be coming here for a long, long time.
We originally found BugBee because my brother lived in Minnesota and we would come to visit him, but he has since moved down to Florida and everyone loves this special place — on the cold lake with no alligators — that all 4 of our families fly up to Minnesota every summer to stay together at BugBee Hive Resort. The kids love to string up their hammocks and explore the resort, with Cousins Crew meetings at the Playground, the water trampoline, and fishing off the dock.
Papa and Grandma like to rent a boat for the week and head out for sunset cruises and towing the grandkids on the tube, to their delight!
I love to do yoga on the porch, paint in a porch swing and make popcorn for the Outdoor Movie night for everyone. And get some local Minn maple syrup for pancake brunch in my cabin for the whole crew.
We all get our own cabin but convene on each other’s cabin for game nights or dinner on the porch.
It’s a long trek from Florida but it’s a core memory every summer in everyone’s mind. And when my kids went back to school and they asked, what did you do this summer? And they drew a pic of BugBee, I know I picked the right place.
