In a place defined by vast wilderness, it’s easy to be captivated by the grandeur of Southwest Alaska that surrounds Iliamna River Lodge. Yet what truly turns a trip into the adventure of a lifetime are the moments that stay with you long after you leave. The iridescence of native grayling beneath the river’s surface, wildflowers in bloom along the banks, the pulse of the river as a personal best trout comes to hand, and the quiet, meaningful moments woven into each adventure.

Often, it’s the little things that leave the biggest impression. Our lodge family goes above and beyond when it comes to attention to detail.
Whether it’s “grocery shopping” for tomorrow’s salmon dinner under the midnight sun, planning and preparing every delicious meal of the week, firing up the sauna to the perfect temp for your return from the river, beating the bears to the best berries in the valley for tonight’s from-scratch dessert, or gathering wildflowers for the table…they get it done (and then some).
While you’re making memories out on the water, they’re working beyond the lodge kitchen and daily operations…boating, biking, paddling, and hiking through the Alaskan bush to track down the good stuff and ensure every detail of your stay is just as memorable as the fishing.

The 2025 season is officially over, and our lodge is closed up and ready to make it through another Alaskan Winter. Our last week of the season was epic, complete with an amazing show of the Northern Lights.

Thank you so much to each and every person, from the guests to our wonderful staff, who made this season so extraordinary. We’re already counting down the days til next year!
